I ordered size Large. Iʻm 5ʻ5" and 137 pounds, my waist is 33 inches. These pants are GORGEOUS, beautifully well made, soft, not itchy and a great design; perfect in fact, except that they are very tight through the waist. The un-stretched waist laying flat is 28 inches, when I put them on they are quite snug (just this side of uncomfortable), once they are washed they inevitably will shrink (the tag states they are machine washable, but not machine dryable). The length was good on me (Iʻm normal height at 5ʻ5", neither short nor tall).The manufacturer makes this pants in sizes XL and XXL, but Amazon does not sell anything bigger than a Large. Itʻs a shame, they are fantastic pants, but only if your waist is about 30 inches or less for the size Large.You should also know that despite what the Amazon ad says, THESE ARE NOT 100% MERINO WOOL. They are 78% wool, 19% polyamide and 3% elastane. The tag states that they are make to the Oko-Tex 100 standard (which means they are free of gnarly chemicals).Very comfortable and soft. Not too tight and not too lose. I got a size larger than I normally wear (I usually go for S/M, 4-6, or 38-40) and the Large in these fits fine -- not too baggy. The waist is definitely not too tight but is also not overly lose. These will surely be great in the winter, but were perfectly comfy even in the 80-degree weather. Flattering color. I would have bought the blue ones also, but they were all sold out.First I’m returning these since the large was, well, large. I usually wear a medium or large, but another review mentioned small waistband ( I didn’t think so). So apart from size color and cut - all odd, these would have been great to have as my snuggle bunny winter pants. Thick warm soft material. Had these not been so expensive I would’ve kept them for the luxurious fabric alone. If I see a medium in sale I would definitely get them. The cut/style is pretty odd though
