I love these pants!! They’re great for summer riding because of the large leg vents and the inner lining is removable. The length of the pants is also easily adjustable according to your height. The problem I ran into was at the waist. I ordered a Medium because I have a 24 inch waist but I’m kinda tall and despite the adjustable Velcro on the waistband, they were wait too huge for me. I did this because many reviews said they ran too short which has been a problem with pants for me in the past but this is not the case here! The unadjusted length is a bit too long when standing but perfect for me when I’m sitting on the bike.I reordered a small and they fit really well! Do not order a size larger if you don’t have to!!I have been looking for a 3-season pant for a while now, and after a lot of research I selected these J.R. Alter Ego pants because of the features and the return option (being short it makes ordering clothes online difficult). I did order Medium instead of Small due to other reviews recommending one size larger. You can "hem" the legs by using the snaps provided, perfect for my short 5'2" height! The long thigh outside zippers are great for when I wear work pants underneath; I can pull them down to keep them from wrinkling too much There are two velcro rows on each ankle so you can cinch the material in to keep wind from getting up the pant legs. The knees have a sewn in gusset for comfort in your knee bend. The venting wraps from the top of one thigh around the back of your waist then around to the top of the other thigh, the material piece is removable to stuff in a pocket, ingenious! Only wish they had made the zipper go in both directions so that you could open the top of each thigh without having to go around the back of your waist. The waist has two adjustments in the back you can cinch up so not to have a gap, also a zipper to attach to jacket. The inside of the legs have durable material (I'm guessing for heat protection). The easy to use liner makes them waterproof. I am so happy to have an item be everything that I needed right out of the box, that is rare!Love the amount of adjustability in these pants! I have long legs and am long waisted and these pants are a good fit -- the best I've found after months of shopping different brands. You can adjust the inseam to 31, 33 or 35 inches. You can also adjust the knee protectors to two different heights on the pants. When I sit on the bike in most women's pants, the knee protector comes up above my knees. In these pants the protection actually covers my knees once I moved them to the lower compartment. It took a few tries to get the right size, but it was worth the effort. If you are ordering summer weight pants and do not plan to wear layers underneath, order one size larger than what you would expect from the size chart. If you're ordering cold weather riding gear, order two sizes larger. Even with two sizes larger, they are a bit tight when the rain layer is in place. Mostly I'll wear them without the rain layer because it doesn't breathe very well, but will wear other layers underneath. The waist is a bit high even for me, but I can live with it because the length fits so well.As I said excellent quality, great fit. The liner is great when you get caught in an unplanned ride when it is raining. The liner, also is excellent as wind breaker on those cold morning rides. It has great built in armor in the right places. Joe Rocket is the my go to for all my riding gear! Would not trust not trust any other brand, I know from experience, the material will hold up to extreme abuse.I give these pants five stars. They have accompanied me on two adventure dirt trips now and been awesome. I'm 5'8, 155lbs and ordered a large. Length is perfect (this is rare for me in women's gear). I would probably like one size bigger, little tight around the butt/hips but nothing uncomfortable. All the pads were in the right spots, so I did not need to adjust anything. Went down a few times on the trip and the pass did their job. Pants didn't rip either! The zip out air panel was a little weird to me at first, but it's pretty good at letting in lots of air. Just a note- they obviously are not water proof once you do this, but dried fast. I left the panel open most of both trips because it was warm outside. As with any waterproof gear, these are a little hot. For under $200, these pants are perfect. They held up great, and I like the way they lookI love these, just too small by one size. I am waiting for the XL to come back in stock. Size up by one. I can wear them just tight and a little uncomfortable in waist due to needing a bigger size. I wear a 12 in jeans and got a large.Absolutely LOVE these pants! I have found it challenging to find a pair of riding pants that fit like women's pants should fit, but these do! I had to resort to buying men's pants because of length. I am 5'10 and these are plenty long enough, when you are on the bike, to cover up your shins and boots. The waist is adjustable to fine tune around depending on how thick your pants beneath are. I love the removable strip to vent the pants when the temperature increases. These pants also look great and are very flattering when you are just hanging around waiting to get back out on the twisties! They are well worth the money!I too had very high hopes for these and was very disappointed in the fit. These pants seem to be extremely well made. They are heavy and bulky though. My biggest issue with them (and reason for returning) was exactly as the 1 star review on here says. The cut on them is terrible. The front goes well up and over the belly button. When you bend over or get into a typical riding position the front digs into your tummy and is extremely uncomfortable. And the back of them dies not stay up against you eff back. Nothing but good things to say about the seller though. They arrived quickly, and the return process was quick and easy. For sizing reference: I wear a size 0-3 depending on brand of jeans and these were almost too small for me.
