I would call these an every pant instead of a long haul or weekend pant. They really can work for just about everything. I uploaded pictures to show a variety of outfits. I do not like the white drawstring. I think it should be color matched or black. It is not the highest quality merino wool out there. It is slightly itchy. I know wool gets a bad rap and so many think wool is an incredibly itchy material but it only has to do with the quality. I mean cashmere is wool! So, the fact that this pant has a subtle itchy feel to them lets you know that these aren't the highest quality out there. Does that make them a bad pant? no. They are well structured. The seams are well done and they are durable. The pocket openings are a bit on the narrow side designed for smaller hands. But you do have usable pockets and quite a few of them. I am 5'8" and weigh about 140 pounds. I typically run about a medium or size 8. I got these in a large since I couldn't find any info about the inseam. I would rather deal with a larger pant in the seat and waist than short pants. I could have gotten the medium size since these are not a cropped pant and have a full length inseam. The elastic waist band is very comfortable and does not bite the skin. The ankle though slightly tapered is not so tight that a wide foot or thicker ankle would not be comfortable in these. And there is room in the seat and thighs for those who are thicker in these areas. This pant will complement a variety of shapes. And it could easily be worn in a variety of situations. You want to be able to wear them to multiple types of events in your life and through multiple seasons. Even though they are pants I wore them on a very hot and humid day in the south, I stayed comfortable temp wise. True I don't typically overheat but I never felt warm or uncomfortable. The air moved comfortably through the pants so sweating was not an issue. Being a natural fiber, they will adapt to your temperature. When I moved into the AC, that's where I have the problem, I easily get cold. These also kept me at a comfortable temp. I was not cold. I could easily wear tights or warm weather gear under these in the winter and these would be perfect pants for spring and fall. So, since I can wear to multiple different types of events by the different tops and shoes to style it and I can wear it though different seasons, it comes down to the longevity of the pants themselves. Wool being a very hardy fiber lasts a long time. If I wear these pants once a week for the next two years that is 104 wears, the $120 price tag equals out to $1.15 for each wear. That is an economic value. I think they are worth the investment.I am an outdoorsy person and a big fan of merino wool for its moisture wicking properties. It's an upgrade from synthetics in that merino wool doesn't hold onto body odor or contribute to micro-plastics.I have several pieces from Woolly and have been happy with all of them. These Longhaul Weekender Pants are the same great quality that I have come to expect from the Woolly brand. They're made of 66% 215 GSM Australian merino wool, 29% Cotton, and 5% Elastane. They have a generous weight to them with a nice drape.I chose the "Black" color that serves as a great neutral and is well represented in the description photos. If you are someone who loves more colorful clothing, Woolly tends to have some really unique and beautiful color offerings.I like the silhouette of these pants. They have an elastic waistband with functional drawstring and button with zipper fly. I like the wide waistband and high rise fit. They also have pockets for added functionality. The slightly tapered leg gives these pants a very classic and tailored but effortless look. They're both comfortable and stylish and can be suitably worn for a variety of casual situations. These are particularly ideal for travel - I could see being comfortable in these for a long flight. For reference, I am 5'5" tall 110 lbs with a straight body shape and long limbs with a short torso. After glancing at the size chart on the Woolly website, I ordered the XS (the same size I've ordered from Woolly in the past). These pants fit generously but I feel that the style lends itself well to being a bit oversized. Being in the smallest size, I'm unable to size down in these. But, the functional drawstring allows me to achieve a more tailored fit.I'm really happy with these Longhaul Weekender Pants and highly recommend them, as well as the Woolly brand in general! When I first got these, I thought the fabric was gross and plasticky. However, after I washed them (in cold water and air dry), they have a lovely soft feel that is not at all scratchy. Overall, they have a flattering fit. The problem is that these seem about a full size too small. Because they have a somewhat tailored fit, this is a problem.Other than that, these do have a lot going for them. They are very lightweight, so will work in summer when you need long pants, such as when working in the yard or hiking in areas with lots of mosquitos or other bugs. The pockets aren't bad, but aren't great. If you love deep pockets, you might be disappointed. But overall, I do recommend this. The fabric really is nice.
